We love the Soup Spoon. It is a local restaurant featuring made from scratch entrees. Their breakfast is awesome and so is pretty much all of their food. We were in for lunch. They also have a nice drink menu and I got a banana bread old fashioned. A nice twist on a classic drink. Their soups are so good and so are their sandwiches.
Fantastic breakfast, service was great, and pricing is fair for what you are served. We ordered breakfast here, made a reservation online for a Saturday morning and had zero issues being seated. Ordered pancakes and sausage and the biscuits and gravy. The Asiago biscuit is large and very good, the rosemary sausage gravy was delicious. Pancakes were very large and had great flavor, fluffy without being overly sweet.
I've been to this place a couple times. They always do a great job! I had their seasonal pancakes, which were yummy. My wife had their pastrami sadwhich and au gratin potatoes. Both were very good, she just wished their was more filling in the sandwhich, as the bread to meat ratio was a bit off. We also had a couple cocktails which were fantastic! Overall, a great place to go, and worth the visit!
A place where everyone is treated like family and the food brings you comfort! Immediately upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with warm smiles and a great conversation with the manager/owner, who ended up bringing us a taste of Greek liquor! Our server was efficient and kind, constantly checking in on us. Food-wise, it was phenomenal. The seafood chowder was delicious and my seasonal pasta was super filling and overall a top pasta dish. Could not recommend this place more for a stop into Lansing, whether you’re here to visit MSU or are just passing through! It’s a place that makes everyone feel like they’re home and the food/service certainly reflects that!

The menu offers a wide variety, making it hard to choose (in the best way). Everything we tried was well-prepared and delicious. We left happy and already planning our next visit.
Soup Spoon is THE place to go for good food in Lansing! We’ve been there several times and it never disappoints. Tonight I had the short rib and it was delicious - a totally unique combination of flavors. Cocktails are great as well. The menu has something for everyone. Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch, or dinner
Seems a trend there to be sat on the bar side if you're alone, on one else was sat there. That being said the bartender/my server was super sweet and attentive.
Soup Spoon Cafe is a really interesting place! The vibe is pretty cool and the menu is vast. A lot of unique food options and all the portion sizes are pretty big! Eric was the host and he was a really awesome and friendly guy! Had a great time and conversation with him. He actually suggested Johnny’s Chicken and it was great! So much food. It’s basically two cornmeal pancakes with friend chicken thighs with syrup and sausage gravy. There’s A LOT going on there… but, it was really solid! Definitely a unique experience!
I ordered the steak & eggs...also French toast...Everything was delicious!! 😁 I wish I could've ordered the bread pudding but it was a little to cold in there for me. I don't like shivering while I'm eating or wearing my jacket but I will be back!! Host and my Waiter were very friendly and welcoming.
Met friends for breakfast on Saturday. Cozy place to meet on a cold January morning. The Santiago Benny was soooo good. Nice little kick, great flavor, highly recommend. It’s new on the menu and very much worth a try. We stayed and talked a little too long but the waitress was kind about letting us know she had a reservation coming in.
